Attractant Spray

Is vanilla extract mixed with water and sprayed out of spray bottle a good attractant for whitetail deer?

i would not have thought so, eventhough iv heard that one before.
Any thing that will make the deer curious will give you the slightest chance of luering it closer, deer urine can also work to an advantage in certain weather

Does the Spray "Attractant 10" work ?

ok i just hurd of this product and just wanna know if any one have used it and whether it works.

Thank

Depends on how u define "work".....phermones DO increase attraction from the opposite sex, however theres no majic spray that you just put on and automatically get laid.

How good it works really depends on the quality of the ingredients, quality of the ingredients can be determined by the reputation of the company.

From the research I've done so far my impression is that some guy bought a bunch of bottles, filled them with tap water, printed some labels and gave it a fancy name. Not very reputable.

Spray attractants for pan fish through the ice?

I read the question Nathan S asked about sprays. I have been thinking about trying one out but the ones I saw were for Bass, Catfish, Walleye and Trout. Are there any good ones for pan fish and do they work? Would you use them for ice fishing? What brand and variety would you recommend if any? Thanks to all who answer in advance.

Most attractant company's have a Crappie scent. I've had some moderate success with this for Crappie & 'Gils:

http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_74414____SearchResults

2 weeks ago I went Crappie fishing and used the above on micro-jigs. The Bluegill & Crappie would not TOUCH or come near my jigs (OR my live bait) until I put this stuff on one of my Fly-jigs. (I watched them with my Aqua View camera!)

It also (call me crazy) seemed to (call me crazy) draw fish from a distance. Once the attractant filtered into the water was when the schools of 'Gils & Crappie showed up.

20 FT from me was another set of guys fishing, (I could hear they were doing well). I immed dropped a live Crappie minnow down once I got set-up and (according to my Aqua View), I had a couple fish pass by, but nothing stayed long enough to get excited about my live bait.

Then I started jigging a SUPER small 1/32 jig (it honestly was a Fly-fishing fly with a split-shot about 2 FT up to weight it down), with added attractant. Within about 10 minutes I had a school of 'Gils & Crappie surrounding my hole! It was amazing- but not unusual! I've had this happen before.

Anyway, the guys fishing next door didn't catch another fish the whole time I was there. I guess I stole there school with my attractant and Fly-jig.................

Hope this helps ya? Good fishing.

How has your catch rate increased/decreased since using Gulp!?

Do you think Gulp! works better than say regular plastic worms sprayed with attractant? I don't use it, because i think it's a little on the pricey side.

Short version:

For both large and small mouth bass, my catch rate didn't increase. Gulp doesn't provide any advantages for my style of bass fishing.

Long version:

Compared Berkley Gulp Sinking Minnows side by side with Yum Dingers. Rigged Gulp and Dinger on 2 different rods of same specs. Rigs tried: Fly line, wacky (with ring), drop shot, texas rigged with weighted EWG hook and texas rigged with unpainted 1/16 bullet sinker. Tried Gulp first and alternated between lures after every 8 casts. Fished 3 mornings and 3 afternoons/early evenings before and after work. Conclusion: Initial performances from fresh out of the package Dingers could blow Gulp away.

Compared Berkley Gulp 3" Minnows side by side with chewed down 4" Roboworms. Rigged Gulp and Roboworm on 2 different rods of same specs again. Rigs used: Drop shot, fly line and lead jig head. Gulp went in first and alternate after every 10 minutes. Fished 2 mornings and 2 afternoons/early evenings before and after work. Conclusion: As long as you kept Roboworm smelling like motor oil (just roll it inside the package), it will outperform Gulp. Also, it is painful to fly line 3" Gulp minnows.

Repeated the same test again about 7 months later. Gulp tested were taken from the exact same packages used previously. A new package of Dingers were used. 2 leftover Roboworms were used before a new package was opened. Same method of comparison was used. Tested senko type worms for 1 morning and 1 late afternoon. Tested 3" minnow/chewed down Roboworms for 2 mornings and 2 late afternoons. Old Roboworm remained in similar condition with no real noticeable difference. Gulp dried out a little and the lures ripped a little easier than before. Conclusion: Aged Gulp performed worse than fresh out of the package ones.

Repeated same tests for the third time. This time, the test took place in saltwater and new packages of Gulp were used. Target specie changed from large mouth bass to spotted sea bass and halibut. Same method of comparison again. Fished twice early in the morning, twice in the afternoon and three times at night. Senko type worms didn't perform as well as expected in saltwater. Roboworms, on the other hand, kicked butt in salt. Conclusion: Freshwater version Gulp doesn't attract saltwater fish that well.

Number of skunks from all lures mentioned above - Three times from Gulp 3" minnow. But Gulp minnow also produced one accidental carp and two crappie.
Number of times Berkley Gulp won (total weight of target specie) - Zero.
Number of times Berkley Gulp came close to winning - Once (with sinking minnows on LMB.)
Number of times Berkley Gulp produced largest fish (including none target species) - Twice. 3" Gulp minnow got me a 12 pound carp. Wrong specie by accident but no complains there. 5" Gulp sinking minnow produced a 4.25 pound LMB; not a lunker but above average in waters I frequent.

Final words:
Do I use Berkley Gulp? Yes. I just don't use Gulp for large and small mouth bass fishing. Soft plastics + a bottle or two attractants will perform better on bass than Gulp. In the long run, regular soft plastics plus attractants are cheaper than Gulp. Gulp is biodegradable but it doesn't last as long as soft plastics. Regular soft plastics will mix better with other brands of fish attractants than Gulp. Gulp will perform better than regular soft plastics IF you don't use fish attractants.

By the way, Berkley Gulp (saltwater) performed much better than freshwater versions.

PS: I have not tried Gulp Alive yet.

House training 3 Month Old Puppy?

I have a 3 month old Beagle/Austrailian Shepard mix and hes from a shelter and I'm trying to House Train him by taking him out in the morning after he eats in the afternoon and before he goes to sleep. The problem is, is that when I bring him outside he doesn't go he just eats the snow outside. Once I bring him inside he poo's or pee's about five minutes later. When I catch him doing this I tell him no outside and bring him outside but by the time hes outsdie he doesn't need to go anymore. I tried using the puppy pads and the attractant spray he used the pads for a couple days and just licks where the attractant is sprayed. Help? And is there any good dog forums out there??
I tried keeping him outside till he does somthing but he just sat there after 10 minutes and kept sitting there doing nothing for another 10 and wimpered so I took him back in

First off at 3 month old he/she needs to go out every 2 hours or so.
they don't get full bladder control until 6-8 months old
don't just stand there you need to wak him/her around and yes it can take 10-15 minutes.
be reptative and other thatn that do the same if he goes inside

Please help! Housebreaking...?

I got a 8 week old female (now 9 weeks), red, mini dachshund. I have decided that I want her to go on puppy pads. She use to go on newspaper where I got her from, but when I tried that with her, she wouldn't go. Sometimes she will use the pad and sometimes she won't. I bought an attractant spray, but I'm scared that it won't work. Right now, we're getting snow and she HATES the cold weather. So, it's kind of hard to train her to go outside. What's the best way to get my puppy (Tinkerbell) to use the puppy pad and does any of you know if those sprays, specifically made by drs. foster and smith really work?
I've tried the "crate" thing and all she does is whine and when I say whine, I mean WHINE and it drives me crazy to where I can't get any sleep.

I have standard Dachshunds. They can run very fast to do their business in bad weather. (Love the snow, hate the rain). We went from papers to outdoor training. I haven't used the spray, but as I remember the pads have an attractant smell too. Place the pad on the newspaper, then try the spray if needed.

Predator control methods antiquated, cruel Winnipeg Free Press

, Feb. 27).

But it is a misguided strategy that, if implemented, would be a disaster for wildlife, deadly to people and pets, and ultimately fail in its goal of reducing predation on livestock.

The cattle producers have lobbied the federal and provincial governments to reintroduce the use of the highly toxic poison cyanide for predator control in Manitoba, the poison of choice for killing wolves and coyotes in North America since the 1960s.

The cyanide is dispensed to predators by a device known as a "cyanide ejector" -- technically known as an "M44" -- that to all the world looks like an innocuous stake or survey marker sticking out of the ground.

The top of the ejector is coated with a substance that attracts predators, canines in particular. When an animal pulls up on the head of the ejector, a spring ejects a deadly spray of sodium cyanide into the animal's mouth and face, causing death when the poison comes into contact with the mucous membranes in the face.
