What is the best braided line you can use to fish for anything from pan fish to Musky?
Can you also safely use braid for musky and pike without a leader? I know some people do but wanted your opinion on it...
I have use several brands and now stick to Berkley fireline!
I use the braid then use flourocarbon leader to the lure or bait anymore in clear water and a length of heavier braid as leader in stained waters.
I have had a hard time tying braided line onto the spool so it doesn't slip when I try to reel it up. Any suggestions? I have no problems with monofilament because I just tie a clinch knot and it stretches and locks on nicely.
A wrap of foam compression tape or double sided sticky tape will help.
I read an article in FLW last month and they mentioned tying an eight foot fluorocarbon leader onto braided line. I tried tying a bloodknot to hold it, but it just pulls apart with a little pressure, am I doing something wrong? Anybody got any ideas?

When I'm fishing I want to attach a 3 ft. liter of momnofilmit line to the braided line I have on my fishing reel.Anyone know how to do this with a diagram or something?

I have a zebco 606 bowfishing reel, and was wondering if i could spool it with either Power Pro or Berkley Gorilla Tough braided line. I have always heard that a spin cast reel had to have mono line.

Spin cast reels do not have to have mono. Trust me, I have a Zebco 33 and i use braided 10 lb. line with it. Doesn't have any problems i'm aware of. Braided Line is the way to go for Heavy Cover bass fishing, catfishing or carping.

The pizza maker star in our family is our son, Todd. He makes a killer Chicago-style pizza from scratch, and this pizza recipe experiment comes with a braided breadstick wrapped around the perimeter of the pizza dough.

TODD'S BRAIDED BREADSTICK CRUST PIZZA
2 teaspoons sugar
1 cup warm water
1 package dry yeast
3 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons salt
1/4 cup olive oil
3 tomatoes, cubed
6 garlic cloves, divided
3 teaspoons dry basil, divided
8 ounces mozzarella cheese, sliced
Musky are often referred to as the fish of a thousand casts, but that’s not always so. Muskies are in fact readily available! Here’s how you can land your share of muskies.
1. TacticsYou can certainly cast for muskies, but you can also drift or troll for muskies. When casting for muskies, big baits lures work well, but so do small lures. The difference is that if you use small lures, you may also catch types of smaller fish (like bass, walleye etc).
2. Lure Size
So, if you specifically want to avoid other incidental fish, stick with larger lures. If you don’t mind catching other fish while fishing for muskies, then smaller baits are a great choice. I know I took my largest musky while pre-fishing for a walleye tournament. I was using a very small, 1/8th ounce buck tail jig! I was extremely fortunate that I did not get cut off, as I was not using a wire leader.
Muskies love weeds & rock as well. Working your lures/bait above weed beds or along weed edges can be very effective. When fishing from a boat, keep an eye on your fish finder to be sure you are fishing over weeds or along side of weeds. You will want to be sure that you spend your time in these high potential areas.
When fishing over rocky areas and points, its best to fish down deep, close to bottom as opposed to suspended. Those muskies will be hovering close to the bottom, relating to the rocks & cover, looking for a meal.
When fishing weeds, the muskies may be suspended as they can sit high in the weeds & still be able to ambush bait (or your lure!) but when fishing over a rocky, weed less bottom, the muskies will relate closer to the rock cover..
4. LineHeavier line in order, and fluorocarbon leaders – at a minimum – are a must. Thin wire leaders are preferred as you will be assured not to get cut off.
