There's a duck in the pond behind my house and it has a fish hook in it's bill. Not stuck in it but all the way through it. I try to grab the duck but it wont let me. Help please!
this has happened before but it was in the ducks skin.
You need to call the Department of Enviormental Conservation and they will help it or tell you of a wildlife rehabber to call and they can come and get the duck. It is free for all wildlife. You can try to catch it yourself but they are hard to get. A big net if you have one. I would not try to remove it myself as it is usually more complicated then it looks. The duck will also need meds that the rehabber can give. Good luck.

Fish Hook Eye Surgery (Not my Eye)
Extraction of a fishhook in eyeball. Juicy!
Is it safe to pierce your ear lobe with a fish hook and leave it in?
I want to pierce my ear lobe with a fish hook. I want the hook to be up side down. I was just wondering if the hooks metals were okay for my ear and if it would get infected because of how im doing it.
Lol not certain if your actually being serious here :P
I wouldnt, the steel the hooks are made of isnt really safe to use, tends to rust very easily. Think you can get some hook shapped jewellery though, that comes in 316L surgical steel, not a good idea to pierce it with though.
Just stay away from barbed hooks, its probably for the best :D

No, don't let anyone demand you take your dog to the vet, my dog had a hook in her back one time, and it was a really simple fix. Something as simple as this doesn't require veterinary care, and what people on here need to realize, is that... not everyone is rolling in the money, and price restraints are a big issue. When my dog had the hook in her back, we fixed it and went on her merry way. It isn't causing as much pain as you think it is. What you'll need is a some wire cutters.
Grab the end of the hook that the line would attach to, and clip it off. Slide the hook out backwards (So you don't catch the prong on her skin).
Or you could clip the pronged side (the sharp side) and then slide it out.
I suggest cleaning it with soap and water right away, and keeping an eye out for infection sides (redness, swelling, and heat around the area). If you see those, take her to a vet to get on antibiotics RIGHT AWAY.

What should I do if my dog swallows a fish hook?
My dog swallowed a small fish hook. What should I do.
take him to the vet-- reason being if it happens to tear him up on the inside it could kill him or cause huge discomfort--

What size/type of plugs should I wear if I want to wear hoop or fish hook style earrings?
I have my ears stretched to 00g and am kind of regretting it now because I miss wearing hoop and fish hook style earrings. I'm sure studs are out of the question unfortunately, but is there something I can do if i want to wear hoops and other "regular earrings"? Or am i pretty much screwed and have to stick with plugs and other jewelry intended for stretched lobes?
you can wear hoop earrings just put them under your plugs that's what I do..
like they just slide right underneath them

My dog has a fish hook in its bottom lip?
My dog has a fish hook in its bottom lip, and all the vets are closed what should i do?
I got one caught in my leg onetime and i had on long pants. The thing to do is to push the hook all the way through until the hook comes out on the other side, and cut it off with a pair of dikes. They are small pointed snips. It will probably take some help, but don,t stop just keep pushing until the hook comes out where you can cut in in half. It will be the same thing the vet would do, but this is a lot cheaper. Everything will be ok.

Antique Tool Talk: Military wire - Enterprise-Record
The big wire sales had slowed by the early 1900s. There was an export market for U.S. wire, but other countries such as France and Germany were selling wire as well.
I can find nothing about barb wire being used by the U.S. Army before the Spanish-American War and then only to contain POWs in temporary camps.
Now there were a few wires called "military," but they lacked the design to really injure, not being much different than cattle wire. One such wire was patented in 1875; perhaps it was sent overseas. There were other wars that the U.S. was not involved in. Perhaps wire was used in them.
In World War I on the Western Front, hundreds of thousands of miles of wire was used. Even before we joined in the battle, wire was being sold to the English.
The first wire, called entanglement wire, was nothing but heavy strands of wire. There was a wire being sold as "Apache Stockade Wire," but there is no information as to who made or sold it. It was sold for use in WWI. Another wire
